A Spanish restaurant chain has recently leased a space in Fountains at Roseville. Owned by brother and sister Xavi Padrosa and Maria Padrosa, Telefèric Barcelona will occupy an approximately 6,000-square-foot space in the center at 1190 Roseville Parkway. The space was previously California Pizza Kitchen, which closed this January.

The story behind the Roseville destination was a bit of a personal one.

“I’m an avid triathlete, and during an Ironman competition near Roseville, I stayed for a night and came across The Fountains. I was immediately taken with the location’s charm. From the moment I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect spot for a restaurant. When the opportunity to collaborate with the landlord arose, we were thrilled to make it happen,” Xavi Padrosa told What Now Sacramento in an email.

Padrosa will work with Trenchs Studio for the upcoming location. The distinguished Spanish design firm has crafted the ambience of all Telefèric Barcelona locations, in collaboration with co-owner Maria Padrosa, who creates the restaurant’s interior design and is a Spanish designer herself. The studio carries an impressive portfolio, including working with one of the top restaurants in the world, El Celler de Can Roca. According to the Business Journal, the space will include a large patio and a speakeasy room available for private events. There will also be a small Spanish market selling imported products.

“We’re thrilled to see their Mediterranean vision come to life here.” Padrosa said. “Their expertise and innovative approach ensure that our new location will embody the same exceptional quality and design excellence.”

The Roseville location’s menu will have most of the brand’s core offerings, such as the vastly popular paellas and sangrias. However, Padrosa also plans on adding a unique touch to the new location.

“We are planning to introduce some special items and exclusive drinks but these details will be refined and announced as we get closer to the opening. Our goal is to provide a personalized touch while still delivering the authentic Telefèric Barcelona experience our guests love.” Said Padrosa in the email.

Telefèric Barcelona opened its first location in Barcelona, and expanded into the U.S. in 2016 at Walnut Creek. The chain has since added restaurants to Palo Alto, Los Gatos and Los Angeles, with more locations planned in Long Beach, California; Bellevue, Washington; Scottsdale, Arizona; and Dallas, Texas.
