The space at 3400 Broadway Ste 100 has sat vacant since its previous tenant, vegan gelato shop Conscious Creamery, closed last July. While the creamery was around, it brought many foot traffic to the area and businesses near by. Since its closure, adjacent businesses all noticed a significant decrease in visitors.
A little over half a year later, Susan Stewart, owner of Strapping, a boutique gift shop right across the street, decided to make a move instead of waiting to see what happens next. According to the Business Journal coverage, Stewart signed the lease for the space last week and will officially occupy the space in April 1. The new ice cream shop will be called Licked and will get its ice cream from Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Company based in Madison, Wisconsin.
Stewart anticipates opening Licked in early May. What Now Sacramento sent Stewart an email inquiry but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
