An Italian pastry chain is set to open in Roseville’s Westfiled Galleria this spring. According to initial reporting seen in The Business Journal, Carrara’s Pastries leased the vacant space at 1151 Galleria Blvd., Suite 1165, and originally hoped to open by the beginning of March. The company’s President and CEO Mel Jones updated What Now Sacramento that the location is now looking at an April 15 opening if they can get the final greenlight from the Health Department.

Carrara’s Pastries was originally founded by Damiano and Massimiliano Carrara, who are both talented chefs. Today, Carrara is operated by the Jones family, with Milford (Mel) Jones serving as the company’s CEO and President. Jones is an experienced multi-restaurant operator and restaurant broker. He also operates a restaurant brokerage company Paramount Restaurant Brokers, Inc.

Carrara’s menu features various Italian pastries, cakes, and artisan gelatos. Crowd-favorite items include Passione Exotica (milk chocolate pâté à bombe, mango and passion fruit center, almond chocolate crumble, covered with dark chocolate glaze), Tiramisu, Sfogliatelle (Flakey pastry shell filled with baked ricotta & orange zest), Shortbread Sandwich Cookies, and other full-size and bite-sized offerings.

The chain currently has locations in Moorpark, Agoura Hills, and Pasadena. The corporation directly operates all locations, and no franchising opportunities are available at the moment. The Moorpark location is the only location with restaurant elements and offers lunch and dinner.
