Palm Tree Brewing Co. describes itself as an island-style microbrewery. The brewery’s operation started at Greenback Lane in Orangevale in 2018 and later built a taproom on Hazel Avenue two years later. Both locations closed in June once leases expired and the owners began their search for a new location.

The site, which is a 2,990-square-foot building built in 1952, was last occupied by Walter Nash Jewelry. The business closed earlier this year and the building has remained vacant since. Palm Tree Brewing plans to build a brewery and taproom on the ground floor and a covered patio on the rooftop with beer taps and seatings, according to co-owners Derek Clark and Sara Green. The work will also require a complete renovation of the building’s exterior and interior and the addition of an elevator and staircases to connect to the rooftop.

Clark and Green also own an Orangevale music venue called The Broadwalk. By the time of this coverage, the owners were not available for comments.
