Wayback Burgers to Begin Works on a New Location in Natomas

The brand using fresh meat for their burger patties is coming to Sacramento this winter.

A Wayback Burgers restaurant is coming to Natomas at 4000 E Commerce Way. According to city records, plans have been filed for permit application with the City of Sacramento. Franchisee Mansoor Babar confirmed with What Now Sacramento that he is hoping to open the location in winter 2024, by the end of this year.

Located inside Natomas Landing, the upcoming Wayback Burgers will occupy the vacant Ste 150, which was previously a flooring store called Homesite Services. The space will require new electrical, plumbing, and mechanical modifications, interior particions and new equipment. Application materials indicate Carmichael based Carlifornia Dream Construction is leading the project.

Barbar has a strong entrepreneurial background and has operated a transportation compoany in the past. A native of Plumas Lake, Babar has always been familiar with the Wayback brand as the company ahd another location in Roseville as well. Babar told What Now Sacramento that he did some research before moving forward with the franchise, and what he appreciated was how the brand used fresh meat instead of frozen patties for their burgers.

Wayback Burgers, formerly known as Jake’s Wayback Burgers, is a Connecticut-based fast service restaurant chain. According to the company’s website, the brand currently has over 170 locations in 35 states and over 20 countries. The chain currently has seven locations in California and three of them are in the Sacramento region in Folsom, Sacramento, and Roseville. The upcoming restaurant will be the second in the city of Sacramento. Its website also lists a Davis location as “coming soon.”

Wayback Burgers has a extensive menu featuring various gourmet burgers, chicken sandwiches, side items and its famous hand-dipped milkshakes. The brand also offers limited-time menu items throughout the year. Currently, the limited-time items are a cookie dough milkshake, cheesy bacon cheese curds, and a cheesy bacon ranch cheesesteak sandwich.
