Operators Sergio Barrios and Melissa Allen announced the rebranding on Facebook, citing increased “food and wage expenses” as main reasons behind the decision, followed with the exciting announcement of first phase of the Venus rebranding.

“Now, we’d like to introduce you to a new business brought to you by the beloved Barrios-Allen family but under new management & energy!” The post said. “Venus, just like the planet that can be seen morning and night we will be here serving up some great items for you first thing in the morning on through the night.”

According to records from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, the operators have filed for a new business license under the new name. The new concept will serve as a casual coffee house featuring an artisan coffee menu and fresh pastries. In the evenings, Venus will turn into a taproom focusing on local brews, serving pizza and sharable plates.

What Now Sacramento reached out to the owners for more details on future phases but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
