A new concept featuring boba tea, ramen, and classic Asian appetizers is planned to join Broadstone Marketplace in Folsom. Boomba Tea has recently signed a lease for a space at 2784 East Bidwell St., Suite 300, formerly occupied by Broadstone Dental. The cafe/restaurant is anticipated to open in the next few months to serve as the flagship location for a future franchise chain.

Co-owners Allan Chan and Chris Quach contemplated joining an existing franchise but decided to start their own franchise. The menu will consist of various boba teas and smoothie teas, accompanied by food options like ramen, spam musubi, and popcorn chicken.

“We will be the only boba franchise that serves ramen. For our ramen we are creating rich broths with fresh noodles, hand rolled Chasu , and fresh toppings. We brought on board a culinary chef to help fine-tune our food. We also have eggettes, spam musubi, and a few other snacks on our menu.” Chan told What Now Detroit via email.

In addition to standard tapioca boba, guests can also choose from a wide variety of add-ons, such as brown sugar boba and different flavored popping jellies. Customers can also order certain toppings on drinks like creme brulee and cheese foam.

“A lot of [boba tea businesses] now are cookie cutters and using the same formula. We have tried many throughout the last two decades and found them all to be similar. We set out to be different. We will be using real fruit for our fruit drinks and loose-leaf tea for our milk teas. We are using the best ingredients for our hand-crafted drinks.” Chan said in an email.

Renovations are currently underway, and a grand opening has been scheduled for April 20. Boomba tea will provide the guests with an experience that’s “in between upscale and club experience,” according to the operators.

The upcoming location was chosen when Quanch became increasingly fond of the Folsom community and its economic future over the past few years. The duo is also looking into future locations in nearby markets, including one in a retail center in west Roseville, for which the duo has submitted a letter of intent. The owners hope to use a successful flagship location to attract investors and begin franchising.

“We want people to come in and feel like they walked into an upscale function. It’s vibe enough for the adults bringing in their children to have a good time. Or just come in and hang out.” Chan commented.
