Popeyes has planned a new franchise location at the former Long John Silver’s space at 3298 Northgate Blvd. The plan includes extensive remodeling of the interior, exterior, and the current drive-through without demolishing the current building.
The Northgate Popeyes will be operated by experienced multi-unit franchise operator Ghai Management Services Inc. The company operates over 200 fast-food franchises around the West Coast, including Taco Bell, Burger King, and Popeyes locations in the Greater Sacramento area.
Popeye is a Miami-based quick-service fast-casual restaurant franchise owned by Restaurant Brands International Inc. The brand is best known for its chicken tenders, bean and rice, and fried shrimp, and features a New-Orlean-style menu. Currently, there are 2,817 Popeyes across 47 states and 1,525 cities according to official documentation. There are five Popeyes in Sacramento County and most are owned by Ghai Management.
The construction site is located in the parking lot of a strip mall on the southeast corner of Northgate Blvd and Winterhaven Ave. Other businesses in the strip mall include Lampost Pizza, Fiji Mart, and another fried chicken fast-casual restaurant, Nash and Proper. The project is currently under the planning process and Ghai Management has recently filed a design review for the location while seeking approval for a minor modification to the plan.
The new Popeyes is anticipated to open somewhere around mid-to-late 2024. By the time of this coverage, a representative from Ghai Management was not available to provide comments.
