A liquor license is now pending with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) for Pedal Car Pizza & Gelato at 222 Vernon St. in Downtown Roseville. The eatery anticipates to open later this fall. The space was previously occupied by The Fig Tree Coffee, and has remained vacant since 2022.

New signage announcing the upcoming eatery can be seen on the front windows, with Pedal Car’s logo and a declaration of “coming soon” on red background. According to original news about Pedal Car in the Sacramento Business Journal, the new restaurant will serve Neapolitan-style pizza and 12 gelato flavors from Paso Robles-based Leo! Leo!.

The menu includes both classic flavors and innovative twists, including a Swedish pizza, whose toppings include bananas, roasted peanuts, ham and curry powder. The restaurant will also serve wine and beer, according to the pending liquor license.

Pedal Car is owned by husband-and-wife duo Wade and Katherine Hall, both long-time Roseville residents. Wade Hall, who is the owner of Grantie Bay-based Ethan Wade Graphics, told the Business Journal that Pedal Car “is more of a passion project” besides his primary business.

What Now Sacramento reached out to the owners for more information, but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
